Green Organisation Morocco, through its Go-Green Team, organized and facilitated a planting and decoration workshop for children with Down syndrome (Trisomy 21) at their center in Badess, Al Hoceima.
This initiative aimed to combine environmental education with social inclusion by creating a supportive and engaging space where children could learn, create, and interact. The workshop was designed to introduce participants to the basic principles of planting and to raise awareness about the importance of plants and green spaces in protecting our environment.
During the session, the children were guided step by step through the planting process. They learned how to prepare the soil, plant seeds or small plants, and understand the essential elements required for plant growth, such as water, sunlight, and care. In addition to planting, the children participated in a creative decoration activity, where they personalized their pots using various artistic materials. This allowed them to express their creativity while strengthening their connection to the plants they had just planted.
Beyond the practical skills gained, the workshop focused on promoting environmental responsibility from an early age. By engaging directly in hands-on activities, the children were able to better understand the value of nature, the importance of caring for living things, and the role each individual can play in building a more sustainable future.
This activity also reflects Green Organisation Morocco’s strong commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities. We believe that environmental awareness and participation in sustainability initiatives should be accessible to all members of society, without exception. Creating inclusive activities ensures that every child, regardless of their abilities, can contribute to and benefit from environmental action.
Green Organisation Morocco extends its sincere gratitude to the children and the educational staff for their warm welcome, cooperation, and enthusiasm. Their positive energy made this workshop a meaningful and memorable experience for everyone involved.
Through initiatives like this, we continue to plant the seeds of environmental responsibility, solidarity, and inclusion, working together toward a greener and more inclusive future for our community.
